After studying architecture in Japan and UK, Masateru gained 20 years of experience in architecture, urban planning, interior deign and project management at design firms in the UK, Japan and the United States.
In 2023. Masateru established Yeast Architects. Through diverse project experiences both domestically and internationally, Masateru excels at proposing optimal solutions tailored to the characteristics of each projects, utilizing various design methods.
In addition to his professional activities as an architect, Masateru is also involved in educational activities at universities, give lectures at industry organizations, and engage in volunteer activities through design.

As a project manager, Masateru formed the optimal design team for projects such as workplaces, office buildings, sports facilities, and complexes based on the budget, and comprehensively coordinates architecture, interior, environmental graphics, art, and digital design to find the best solution for the project.
As a Japanese-English bilingual, Masateru was also involved in many projects for global companies.

As an architect, Masateru has designed the architecture and interiors of hospitality facilities such as airline lounges and hotels, office buildings, and commercial facilities, as well as urban master plan projects. He has also been in charge of design, including on-site negotiations, for projects in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Korea, and Myanmar. He has also had a high success rate in design competitions.

Masateru has worked on large-scale projects including super-high rise towers, complex cultural facilities including concert halls, and luxury apartment buildings not only in the UK but also in Australia, Russia and other countries, and was mainly in charge of facade design.

Masateru run a half year design studio for each year. The theme is the own spatial design exploration and tackling social issues through architecture deign. Masateru invited professional designers to provide critiques and discuss the topic from a practitioner's point of view, aiming to nurture architects who can contribute to society.
